So is the premise of the Sci-Fi show I recently found out about, but ran over a decade ago (1995).  Being a huge fan of "Hackers (1995)", Shadowrun, and similar things this is not a surprise, the surprise is that I never heard about VR.5 before this month.

Production quality is fair (1995 dates it a bit, but it still sells the point well), and acting is above average (we're getting some primo TV nowadays so it's awefully hard to compete), and the plotline and character development is solid, rarely staggering much ... always a good sign in a new series, not everyone gets 7-8 seasons to hammer out the kinks.  Seek it out if you like this kind of stuff, or even if you are just looking to see 'Ducky' (David McCallum) from NCIS or Giles (Anthony Head) from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or even Gabriel Ashlocke (Michael Easton)  from Mutant X again.
